Scott in Florence

So I haven't updated my blog in forever so I decided that since I have a free moment (they come so few and far between) I'm going to do some entries, plural because I want to divide things up based on when they happened. So I'm going to start about 2 weeks ago when Scott came to visit Florence.

First of all...we had sooooo much fun that weekend. Someone else was visiting too, but I'll just refer to him as He Who Must Not Be Named. Anyway, Scott arrived on Friday and of course we had to introduce him to everyone, although they all basically knew everything about him lol. He fit right in. I decided to pretty much move into Meg's apartment for the weekend so we had a big slumber party :) That night I decided to prove that I actually am Indian and made chicken curry for everyone. I'm proud to say that it came out very well, although Meg's apartment still kinda smells like curry lol. This was the night we also fell in love with Borec, this random Czech beer that is incredibly cheap, but delicious. I'm trying really hard to remember what happened, so I'm probably leaving a lot out. We finally went to Moyo, which was nice, although I didn't think the music went with the atmosphere, but whatever.

Saturday we went down to the Ponte Vecchio, did some window shopping and hit up Fiesole. Let me just say, the view from Fiesole took my breath away. You can all of Florence and as it changes into the countryside. I have to go back because it was a little foggy, but the view was still amazing, the bus ride was beautiful and the town is so quaint. If I ever buy a house in Europe, it will be in Fiesole, that won't be too expensive right? After we got back to Florence we went to dinner at this place called Il Latini. It was incredibly expensive, but it was a nice experience. We didn't order, they have a set menu of traditional Florentine dishes and the bring out each course one at a time. There was sooooo much food! I tried everything (yes even liver!) some I like, some I didn't, but it was good to do, but my bank account won't allow anymore meals like that lol.

Sunday, we went to mass at the Duomo and hit up Santa Croce. That was really cool because so many incredible people are buried there. I've been back 3 times since with classes. After that we made our way to Piazza Michelangelo. Again, a fantastic view. This was a much more clear day and we were there as the sun was setting so it was incredibly picturesque. Shortly after this, Scott had to get on his train back to Venice. ok...next post.
